Translation Notes[]
- While the English dub is faithful towards the original Japanese with some minor changes accounting for lipsync or to use English terms, there were some lines that got changed:
- During the scene where Lupin, Zenigata and Ami sat outside a campfire, they ask about relationships. The English dialogue was changed to reflect the partnership between Lupin and Zenigata, the latter was slightly changed to be less ambiguous. In the fan sub, the mentions of "The one in your pants" was skipped when compared to the subtitles on Crunchyroll however they match otherwise.
Japanese English Lupin: Okay, now tell me how you really feel... Lupin: I see. That's cold, pops. Lupin: But if you want to point your other piece at me... The one in your pants... Lupin: Oh, scary. But if you want to shoot, use that other gun in your pants instead.
- When Lupin, Zenigata and Ami are in the desert, Lupin is holding a dehydrated Ami and asked Zenigata to look after Ami if anything happens to him, the response is different between the two. The dialogue was changed from Zenigata accepting Lupin's request to Zenigata himself believe that nothing could go wrong.
Japanese English Zenigata: I refuse to believe anything could happen to you. But consider it done. Zenigata: Nothing bad is happening on my watch. That I promise.
