Supermarket Manager is a character from Lupin the Third Part II.
Character History[]
The Supermarket Manager is the owner of the 5th Family Mark supermarket and has five identical sons.
He had become jealous that a new supermarket had opened and is getting lots of customers thinking how he would be able to survive with his small shop. One of his sons panicked that the 8th Bank was next door and is angry wanting the new store to feel some pain. Fujiko Mine gave him an idea as they looked at a billboard of Superman from the local cinema. Her idea was that the sons would all dress up as Superman with one of them attracting the crowd while the rest of the family would steal from the nearby bank, dress up in suits wearing rubber masks and fire from their machine guns.
Goemon Ishikawa XIII goes to the supermarket and the manager claims that it was a long time since anyone went to his store. He asked Goemon want he wanted and Goemon replied instant ramen so he went to get two bowls of noodles and tapped them together as they were dusty. Goemon got hold of them and they were three years out of date, he refused to accept them and tried to go. The manager was jealous and shouted thinking that Goemon was going to bad mouth him, he clicked his fingers and got one of his sons to intimidate him. Goemon relented and gave the manager one dollar to accept the out of date noodles. As he says thank you sarcastically, Goemon using the Zantetsuken sliced one of the bowls and the manager sweated as Goemon left.
Figuring out that one of the manager's sons was Superman, at night time Goemon returned to the store and using the Zantetsuken opened the shutter door to get in. Goemon was tied up by the sons while he realized that they were brothers. The manager opened the door and leaned on the railing knowing that he was "the heroic samurai", he laughed and won't tell him his plan as one of the sons put a mask on Goemon's face. He then claims that "a lady" wanted his Zantetsuken and ordered his sons to walk up the stairs. As they left the room, it turns out that Lupin III was watching the whole thing.
In his office, he tells his sons that tomorrow is important otherwise the store will close, Fujiko gives a toast to "Superman" who the sons were dressed up as.
The next day, he filled air into one of the sons as Superman and claims that he looks very cool. Fujiko tells Superman that the target is the 8th Bank and one of the other sons to fly more gracefully. The manager orders him to go for the sake of the supermarket and Superman flies off.
Outside the supermarket, the manager wears a suit with a hat and face mask. He orders his remaining four sons to destroy the rival supermarket so by tomorrow his supermarket is the only one standing. His sons entered and using their machine guns shot threw the supermarket breaking anything. Inside the store, he tells his sons to leave as one of them plants dynamite by the door but was stopped by Koichi Zenigata as he listened to Lupin. Geo McLeod told the manager and his sons to drop their weapons and surrender. They surrendered and he was arrested.
