Stoneman is a character who appeared in Lupin the 3rd Part 2 and later appeared in Is Lupin Still Burning?.
Character history[]
Stoneman is a marksman and challenges other sharpshooters to duels. Apart from that, he is known to sit in bars alone drinking scotch and eating celery sticks. He smiles when Lupin offered him the coins and during the duel with Jigen however much of the time he has a cold expression on his face. As well as shooting, Stoneman is known to jump from rock to rock and crouching focusing on his target.
To make sure that he gets his target, Stoneman hides his ammo by covering his jacket putting rounds on his shoulders and his left arm making sure that he has enough.
Five years before the episode 99, Stoneman had agreed to a duel with Jigen at 3pm. The duel was set up so Stoneman could increase his fame by taking out Daisuke Jigen however Jigen never turned up on time due to a broken down Volkswagen Beetle and had to walk his way to the spot three hours late. This caused him to be angry and at the peak, he crossed off Jigen using his pistol and left.
Since then he had improved going from a newbie to someone as equally matched as Jigen. Later he saved Lupin and Jigen in a sewer as he shot a crocodile who were ready to attack them, Lupin asked who he was however he only wanted Jigen. They agreed to return to the spot the day after tomorrow. Goemon wanted to kill Stoneman however Jigen warned him not to do so as it was between the two.
In a bar Goemon wanted to face Stoneman however he blanked him out and called him a "kid". Later after they finished their heist, they dropped Jigen off at the peak however he attended before 3pm to prevent the same mistake happening. They commends with the duel however Lupin switched Jigen's magnum with a rock causing Jigen to hide and run while picking up the pieces of his magnum.
Stoneman managed to shoot Jigen's hat multiple times and taught him by shooting his barrel to make sure that he doesn't get to the border. With help from Lupin and taking nearly an hour, Jigen managed to fix his gun and shot Stoneman at the same time that Stoneman shot Jigen's hat away from him. He fell off the edge and went straight to the ground.
Despite appearing to be dead, Stoneman returned in Is Lupin Still Burning?, due to time travel. After Lupin is forced by Jigen to drive him to their duel on time Stoneman cripples Jigen.
