Sergio is a character of Lupin the 3rd Part 2.
History[]
Sergio is a groundskeeper of a cemetery in Venezuela that was also the research center of Doctor Zell. The cemetery had "corpse hypnosis" bodies of people that Zell had experimented with and had microchips implanted in their semi-preserved bodies. He has an eye-patch over his left eye and is implied that he knew Zell.
Cornelia returned to the research center as she was having memory problems due to seeing Lupin III, she asked Sergio who was Lupin as she explained her problem and her headache. He explained that her mind was trying to forget the "disgusting" memory of him however when Cornelia wanted to know more, he hesitated and was unable to say more as Zell's chair had popped up.
Sergio had saved Lupin from being cremated as he sneaked into a coffin to find the treasure, Lupin got out of the coffin and asked his identity as he found it a close call then thanked him. He took Lupin's hand and ran towards the room where the coffins were disassembled revealing the treasure. Outside the room on the wall, Lupin had noticed how the treasure was smuggled and asked Sergio whether Cornelia was a robot. Sergio tells Lupin that she was "Miss Cornelia" explaining that Zell wanted to revive Cornelia after years of research so he implanted a microchip in her brain and assimilated himself with a computer in an attempt to control Cornelia. Lupin had figured out that her body was preserved and came back as a zombie controlled by Zell or his computer as he was unaware at the time that he had died, Sergio tells him to leave immediately with "that woman" that Lupin knew was Fujiko Mine. It was unknown whether Sergio had given Lupin the location and the keys to free Fujiko or that he figured out by himself.
Later, as the research center exploded and the corpse hypnosis disintegrated, Sergio rescued Koichi Zenigata. Lupin was surprised to find him alive as Sergio recounts something that the "Honorable Zell" had told him: "If Cornelia was to regain even a tiny fraction of her lost memories, the neuro-chip embedded in her brain would cease to preserve the body. So never say anything to Miss Cornelia that might cause her to recall the past", as he sweated. Lupin asked him to bury Cornelia somewhere in the cemetery with the most sunshine so that she can be surrounded with pretty flowers throughout the year.
