Notes[]
- This was the final TV Special that was made yearly as the next TV Specials Italian Game, Goodbye Partner and Prison of the Past were aired in 2016 and 2019. The TV Special however had a rerun during 2015, 2017 and 2018 when no TV Special was made.
- This special had the most 3DCG artwork mixing with traditional animation in the series, the airships, the hotel, the snooker balls, the Mercedes Benz SSK and backgrounds were rendered in 3DCG. The use was toned down in future work outside of Lupin III: The First where it was fully designed to use 3DCG.
- The character designs received criticism from Japanese fans when the trailer was uploaded onto Youtube regarding Lupin's eyes.[2] The character designer Takahiro Kagami however was hardly involved with the designs as he had done sketches based on the Lupin the 3rd Part 1 designs that he showed to Monkey Punch. [3]
- From 5:55-5:58, Daisuke Jigen pulls out a newspaper article written in English. The top talks about the series that the text lists "TV first" meaning Lupin the 3rd Part 1, Monkey Punch's name was mentioned and gave out a quote "Lupin is not a Gizoku" (gizoku translates as honorable thief). There is also a mention of The Castle of Cagliostro at the right with a summary of the film, it uses the Manga goat bills term rather than gothic bills and the StudioCanal spelling of Clarice rather than Clarisse. Also there is a translation error at the top right where it is "dimension Daisu...", it is suppose to be Jigen Daisuke as the Japanese for dimension is Jigen meaning that the article was either machine translated or not a native writer of English.
- 7:53-8:03 - The poses that Lupin makes on the snooker table and hitting the balls is a reference to Opening 3 from Lupin the 3rd Part 2. Unlike the opening, Lupin does not have a cigarette in his mouth.
- Lupin's calling card was written in English and Italian however the latter was translated as "Il tesoro è chiamato a furto nei Musei Nazionali stasera." (The treasure is called to theft in the National Museums tonight.) It is unknown whether the Mediaset TV airing fixed the error.
- 8:13-8:17 - Lupin does his spotlight run by the wall, a reference to Lupin the Third: Pilot Film, Lupin the 3rd Part 1, The Castle of Cagliostro and others.
- Despite that the announcement calling the video website "Youtude" due to copyright reasons, the website link listed was www.youtube.com/watch however the logo says TMSTube instead.
- 8:57-9:90 - The newspaper article with the photo of Lupin and the mother has text that mentions Lupin the 3rd Part 1 (TV first series) and Lupin the 3rd Part 2 (TV 2nd series) with a mention of Sandayu Momochi as well as another section of The Castle of Cagliostro summary.
- Lupin and Jigen in a plane throwing out objects towards people in a city and they catching them is a reference to Part 1 Episode 10 however instead of counterfeit money, it is his calling card.
