Notes[]

  • The Italian CDR dub renamed the episode to avoid a spoiler that Lupin III does to Koichi Zenigata at the end of the episode. The Italian synopsis was also changed for the same reason.
  • The books by the bookcase are written in romaji. One of the books lists Masashi Fujiwara who was a Japanese politician. "OKYOKYO DE UKYO - UKYO GUNDAM" name drops the Gundam series. The others say "HIROYUKI DA", "BABAINOKI", "GYAHAHA", "SONNA BAKA", "HANNO NAN", "TELL Digu", "AKINA ♡ LOVE". The other books are either faded or incomplete.
  • The scene with the newspaper where Lupin claimed to assassinate Inspector Zenigata is a reference to Part 2 Episode 98. While both scenes have Goemon being annoyed that Lupin had killed Zenigata in the former and injured him in the latter, Jigen turns his back on Lupin in the episode while he was on Lupin's side in Part 2. The idea of Zenigata heading towards a crematorium is also a reference to the episode. Akinari Takashina was involved in both episodes and both used the same animation studio.
  • The idea of using a vehicle covered in gold also featured in Part 2 Episode 5.
