Japanese[]

Please note that this is unverified as the information came from Japanese Wikipedia.

  • When the episode was repeated on TV airings during the 2000s, the second password to open the door was changed from "Chibikuro Sambo kurukuru maru" (translated as "The Little Black Sambo spins and spins" in the English subtitles, a reference to the controversial book The Story of the Little Black Sambo) to repeating the previous password "The king's ears are donkey's ears". This was due to broadcasting regulation as it is considered a racist term however this does not affect the HD remastered version on DVD, Blu-ray and streaming services as it uses the original audio. It is unknown whether there were warnings on the VAP DVD and Blu-ray releases regarding this episode.

Trivia[]

  • Lupin pulls a similar trick on Gelan that he did on Zenigata in the pilot film, only while disguised as Zenigata.
