Censorship[]

Italian[]

(Note: Since this was compared with the Italian DVDs, the TV airings might be more censored.) The Italian dub cuts out any scenes where Lupin and Jenny are together complimenting each other, the dub also suffers from a messed up soundtrack due to the cuts and Darkest Eyes, the insert song featured in the episode suffers from PAL Speedup.

  • When Jenny approaches Lupin and introduces themselves was cut, this starts when Lupin compares her scent to "a citrus-raspberry perfume". Due to this, in the Italian dub Lupin and Jenny assume that they know each others names. The Italian dub returns when Jigen walks away from Lupin and Jenny but then cuts when they are sitting down together and Lupin compliments her "beautiful eyes". On the Italian dub, the soundtrack is messed up as parts of Darkest Eyes can be heard on and off during this moment.
  • After Zenigata busts into the casino, Lupin saying "Wait your turn Pops" was cut.
  • When the Mafia goons grab hold of Jenny and she asks, "What are you doing?"
  • When Jenny gets into the car with Lupin.
  • Jenny thanking Lupin for saving her.
  • When Roulette is holding a mouse with its tail and throws it down the tube towards the alligator.
  • The scene where Lupin and Jenny are avoiding the minigun fire, the dialogue was cut such as Roulette shouting and laughing as well as Jenny and Lupin talking. It is unknown whether the Darkest Eyes dance was shortened during TV airings.

When Jenny hugs Lupin and Roulette shouts to start the minigun Darkest Eyes can be heard even though the record has not started.

Notes[]

  • The episode was completed in June however it took until November to be aired due to baseball matches per-emptying the series on YTV.
  • Darkest Eyes by Cathi Linn is featured throughout the episode, this song appeared on the B Side of Stranger's Eyes. Since the vinyl was released in May 21, 1984 [3] and was relatively new, it meant that the animators and the production team had up to a month to incorporate the song into the episode.
  • The training montage uses dance moves & hair sweat directly lifted from the Maniac scene in the 1983 movie Flashdance.
  • There's a sound glitch as Lupin says the line, "But your hot body might get frozen by a led bullet, y'know?"
