Censorship[]

Italian[]

(Note: Since this was compared with the Italian DVDs, the TV airings might be more censored.)

The entire scene where Laurie, Lupin and Fujiko are in the hotel was completely removed, these include:

  • The scene where Laurie is having her shower was cut due to nudity. The cut begins as soon as Lupin explains about the camel and starts while still focused on the book. This is an important plotline as it explains that the camel needed a maiden as it is a sacred camel that a princess rides at her wedding and when the maiden gets close, its bones glow.
  • When Laurie jumps on the bed after hearing Fujiko and their exchange including the prop gun.
  • When Lupin sneaks into the hotel room for "Laurie-chan", wants to kiss "Laurie's" hand and gets a slap from Fujiko, Fujiko asking what he is up to and sprays him. The removed scene is important due to that Lupin explains on why he has Laurie and where he is going as in the Italian dub at a later scene, Fujiko arrives at the destination with no explanation why.
  • Afterwards Fujiko slaps him towards the wall, Laurie was locked up in the wardrobe and Fujiko pulling her tongue jumps out of the window as a naked Laurie is shaking Lupin. The only part of the dub was kept in was when Bruce moves his sniper rifle but he also says "Very well" instead of "Idiot!".

Outside of the above scene, there were other cuts:

  • When the dummy pilot's head falls off.
  • When Lupin pulled Laurie's top saying "once I start on something, I always see it through to the end" and laughed.

It is unknown whether Bruce's body is lied on the ground with his bleeding hand was cut.

Notes[]

  • This is the first episode directed by Hajime Kamegaki when he worked for Studio Z5, he later directed the TV Specials Seven Days Rhapsody, Lupin III vs. Detective Conan and Record of Observations of the East - Another Page.
  • This episode along with Part III Episode 14 makes up the majority of the Italian opening where it is known as Lupin, l'incorreggibile Lupin. Scenes include where the slot machine shows Laurie, Lupin and the camel with Lupin laughing, Lupin jumping out with his Walther P38, Lupin hiding behind a box of oranges, Lupin talking to Laurie on the plane and Lupin climbing up a ladder.
  • When Lupin is sprayed as he is being hypnotised and with his tongue out, the English subtitles that appeared on UTB Hollywood and Crunchyroll does not translate his gibberish. According to the other translation he says "One sheep, two sheep", similar to in Part 2 Episode 121.
  • There is a jump cut at 16:57 where Lupin gasps then jumps towards Laurie.
  • Jigen's choice of nightwear in this episode is an eye mask.
