Censorship[]
Italian[]
(Note: Since this was compared with the Italian DVDs, the TV airings might be more censored.)
On the DVDs, the episode was mostly uncut outside of one line. The only line that was removed in the dub was when Ricchi says to Zenigata at 4:42 (6:25 in the original version) "I called Lupin here to check the treasure with me". It is unknown why this line was removed outside of time reasons.
Notes[]
- Arsène Lupin looks more like how he does in the Leblanc novels, rather than in Parts 1 and 2 where he closely resembles Lupin III.
- On the newspaper, the message says "Dear Mr. Lupin III YOU ARE SO IDIOT". The English subtitles does not translate the Japanese underneath but Jigen mentions "Lupin is a fool", this translation is not right in context as baka generally translates as idiot. The first Italian dub has Lupin say the message while on the newspaper scene.
- In the English subtitles used in UTB Hollywood and Crunchyroll, Ricchi Wairo is Lynch Graft and Kusogumo is Sogumo, the latter could be censorship as his name translates into English as "Fucking Spider".
- Unusual for the Italian dub, Arsène Lupin retains the Lupin I name and Lupin calls Zenigata "Ispettore" rather than Zaza or Paparino.
