Censorship[]

Italian[]

In the Italian TV airings, when Stefan pulls a knife out to Fujiko with her struggling was replaced with a freeze frame.

The scene where the Lupin gang escape the trap was mostly cut out. The following were cut out:

  • Lupin bending down and asks Fujiko for her bra.
  • Lupin removes the bra and Fujiko is embarrassed.
  • Lupin holding the bra and attaches it towards the metal trap with the bra stretching on the trap.
  • The effect when the Lupin gang jump and becomes a sketch.
  • When the bra breaks away.

The only parts that were kept in were Lupin stretching his feet and the gang jumping. Due to the tape tracking visible at the top of the screen for the remainder of the episode after the removed scene, this at one point might have been the ending from 1987 when Mediaset got the rights to 2004.

Translation Notes[]

  • Miss Jasmin's undercover character can be translated as Marine or Marriene (マリーヌ, marīnu). The English synopsis and the English Discotek translation has translated this name as Maureen however Maureen in Japanese is モーリン (Mōrin).
  • The English Discotek translation and Lupin III DVD Collection calls the ICPO Officer Jasmin however the English synopsis, the Italian dub and the Italian Blu-ray used Jasmine.

Notes[]

  • This episode was directed and animated by Shigetsugu Yoshida and Yuzo Aoki respectively, the same creative team behind Legend of The Gold of Babylon. Yuzo Aoki also came up with the character design of the female doctor.
