Synopsis[]

Silver, who once worked with Lupin on a train robbery, stole the money himself, hid it somewhere in Czech Republic, and promptly got himself thrown into prison on a rinky-dink charge. Lupin, having learned that Silver is about to be released, goes to the prison intent on making Silver tell what he did with the loot, only to discover that, while Silver was in prison, a new top-of-the-line prison was built over the site where he hid the money. Now, will the operation to trade an execution for the recovery of the money succeed?!

Translation Notes[]

In the Italian dub, all references made towards ramen were renamed to spaghetti and Lupin requested "spaghetti cinesi" (Chinese noodles). This was due to that ramen was unheard of in Italy at the time of the dub and later had a restaurant called Zazà Ramen in Milan named after Inspector Koichi Zenigata. Both Spanish dubs had also changed ramen to Chinese noodles (tallarines chinos in the Telecinco dub and fideos chinos in the Animax dub).

In the Japanese original, Zenigata has no time to say anything when running from the falling tree. In the Italian dub he yells "Help! Help!"

  • The English Crunchyroll translation had some translation changes:
    • The English nickname of Koichi Zenigata had become Daddio instead of Pops. This may have came from TMS from the 1980s translation scripts that were used as a base for the dubs.
    • Cup Ramen was changed to instant noodles. The English Discotek translation had reverted most of the changes except from 17:18-17:21 and 17:51-17:53 where it was kept as "instant noodles" and "instant noodle".

Mistakes[]

Translation Errors[]

These mistakes appear in the English Crunchyroll translation, the Discotek translation that was based off this translation fixed most of the errors:

  • 7:28-7:31 - Silver says "How about six to four? Of course, six for me". It should be 60-40 and Silver wanting a 60% cut.
  • 7:50-7:52 - Lupin says "All right, Silver. I accept six to four." It should be 60-40.
  • 11:35-11:37 - "You'" instead of you're. The English Discotek translation kept this typo.
  • 13:07-13:13 - "It'll take more tha his lifetime to put his cases on trial, one by one." is missing a n on "than".

Censorship[]

English / Japanese[]

When the episode was aired on UTB Hollywood in the US, the black woman that was dancing in the bar and Silver was looking at her was cut due to her breasts being exposed. [1]

Notes[]

  • Even though the episode received an English dub title as "Everyone Loves Ramen", this episode and further episodes (apart from 145 and 155) are currently not dubbed into English. The English dub title is a reference to the TV show "Everyone Loves Raymond".
  • During the flashback when Lupin describes the train robbery, the train driver does not scream in the Italian dub.
