Venetian Super Express is the 8th episode of Lupin the 3rd Part 2.
Synopsis[]
The Trans-Europe Superexpress is transporting a racehorse from Italy to France. But the collected valuables of crime boss Don Marcino is also aboard that train. His true objective is to get his ill-gotten gains out of the country. Lupin goes after the treasures of Don Marcino.

- Inspector Zenigata is reading the "Map of Itary" instead of Italy.
Translation Notes[]
The English dub compared to the Japanese original and the Italian dub had the majority of the script rewritten with only the scene between Fujiko and Don Martino being the most faithful, extra dialogue was added including characters who were originally voiceless and extra explanation regarding the plotline such as Zenigata asking the hotel staff which room Lupin was in and Lupin explaining to Fujiko that Jigen left the map.
- When Lupin is in disguise, he appears to be a hippie in the English dub.
- As Lupin explains about the Simplon Tunnel, the measurements were changed from metric (19.2 kilometers) to Imperial (about 10 miles).
- When Zenigata falls out of the train and Lupin says "Watch that first step, it's a doozy", it is a reference to an old saying from the late 1930s that was made famous in the Bugs Bunny theatrical shorts from Looney Tunes.
- Lupin makes a reference to Arsène Lupin in the English dub saying that "my grandpa would have kicked your butt even worse" to Don Martino.
- In the English dub, Fujiko, in disguise, chats to who she thinks is Zenigata about his case. There is no such dialogue in the original version.

- This episode was given a theatrical release on March 18, 1978 as part of the Toho Champion Festival, a children's matinee program. This makes it the first theatrically-released anime entry in the franchise, as it predates The Mystery of Mamo by several months, while the Pilot Film was not publicly released during the time of its production; it is also the only episode of a Lupin the Third series to have been presented in this format. Aside from being blown up to 35 mm film, it is currently unknown whether this version was edited.
- The episode's English-language title was referenced in the Discotek release of The Legend of the Gold of Babylon, where one of the chapters is called "Disorient Express Again".
- The preview of the episode that appeared on Part 2 Episode 7 was translated as Venetian Super Express however on the episode itself, it became Venetian Express on the Pioneer DVD release. For the Discotek release, the preview title was chosen.
- When Lupin smashes through the window of the car and deals with Don Martino's henchmen was later made into a level in Lupin III: The Shooting.
- From 13:49-13:51 as Zenigata chases after Lupin who is disguised as Zenigata, a background character that uses Lupin's character design appears wearing a purple jacket and a blue tie.
- The title is a reference to the Orient Express which was a long-distance passenger train service created in 1883 by the Belgian company Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits that operated until 2009. It is also is a play on the word disorient which means to cause someone or something to lose their sense of direction.
- At the beginning, a man is shown feeding pigeons whose trousers and books look exactly like Lupin's.
