Translation Notes[]

Hanafubuki refers to when the cherry blossoms fall off a tree to the ground like a snow storm, it can be translated as Falling Cherry Blossoms, Shower of Cherry Blossoms[2] or Cherry Blossom Blizzard[3]. While sakura is the Japanese word for cherry blossom, hana (flower) is used in this context. This event happens during Spring despite the episode being set in Autumn. On the English Geneon translation, this was translated as Shower of Cherry Blossoms: Mysterious Gang of Five. The English Discotek translation simplified the title further to Mysterious Gang of Five.

Mistakes[]

  • In the English dub, Kikuko Benten mispronounces Fujiko Mine as in mine and not me-nay.

Notes[]

  • The house that Lupin went to had a statue of the Manneken Pis in the fountain.
  • The gang of five are named after a gang of thieves from a Kabuki series.
