Censorship[]

French[]

Please note that one of the cuts is not confirmed and needs a double check.

The French dub was inconsistently cut as the episode had featured nudity and illusion of nudity with visible nipples due to Emmanuelle that have not been suitable for TV broadcast for an animated series.

  • Lupin looking at Emanuelle's naked body. (Possible mistake since she was naked with Zenigata, she had a transparent dress when she was with Lupin)
  • The death of Major Smith by Emanuelle's cat and Lupin comes in disappointed that Fujiko got away, then both him and Emanuelle face off. Lupin then kisses Emanuelle's hand as she told him to kill Fujiko next time he sees her, she then kisses Lupin's neck. This entire scene was cut, the French dub returns when Jigen and Goemon are playing Othello with Jigen showing him a copy of the Holy Scripture.[2]

Translation Notes[]

The English dub has some added dialogue, such as Lupin exclaiming "Crap!" when he drops his flashlight.

Notes[]

  • This was the last episode known to be dubbed into French as it reached the 52 episode mark.
  • The Geneon title is a reference to "Emanuelle in Bangkok", a 1976 Italian erotic exploitation film known in Italy as "Emanuelle nera - Orient Reportage" and is an unauthorized film based off the Emmanuelle series.
  • Due to copyright reasons regarding Emanuelle Poirot as she was named both as a erotic character and a detective, in the Italian and French dubs she was renamed to Manuelita Paulo and Gabrielle Paolo. It is unknown whether she was renamed in the Spanish Telecinco dub as her original name was kept in the Animax dub.
  • Characters resembling Bugs Bunny, C3-P0, a person wearing a Mickey Mouse head, an alien from This Island Earth and Frankenstein's Monster appear during the masquerade party.
  • The first episode to be supervised by Seijun Suzuki, a director whose 1960s gangster films inspired the look of the Lupin III manga.
