Mistakes[]
- When everyone is hit by the sleeping gas, Lupin's pinkies aren't cuffed together. When Jigen starts to leave, they are.
Translation Notes[]
The English dub adds more audible, if still muffled, dialogue between Lupin and Jigen, with aqualungs in their mouths, after the sleeping gas hits. Here's an example when Jigen starts to leave.
Lupin: Hey, Jigen, wait! Give me a hand here!
Jigen: Damn, how the hell did that happen? [Lupin struggles with the cuffs] Look, handle yourself. I'd better go.
Lupin: Hey! Get back here!
Notes[]
- This episode ranked #22 in the Lupin III Best Selection rerun of favorite episodes, as chosen by Japanese fans.
- This was later adapted into a manga called "The Rose and the Pistol - My Bullet is Nice". Despite having the same writer, it was rewritten to fit with the tone of the manga with a duel between a real and a fake Jigen. [1]
- Much of the episode's soundtrack is taken from Georges Bizet's Carmen, most notably "Aragonaise" during the car chase, "Habanera" while Jigen is driving with Linda, and the "Toreador March" during the chase in the bullring.
