Notes[]
- Hayao Miyazaki personally animated the scene of Fujiko dancing with Zenigata.
- Even though Fujiko Mine wears a disguise throughout the episode, it is the first appearance of her redesign that later appeared in Episode 16 and future episodes in this series with Episode 17 alternating the designs.
- While Koichi Zenigata dances with Catherine, Lupin III and Fujiko go look for the jewel. One of the books that Lupin grabs say "Studio Junio", one of the animation studios who animated the episode. It is the only book that is legible.
- In both the English and Italian synopses, Catherine has the last name Burgess while in the episode itself, it is Martin.
- On the boarding list, the following people are listed:
- Tadao Horie
- Michishio Yanada (unknown, possible reference to the character Michio Yamada from Live Today, Die Tomorrow!)
- Kazama Hekashi?
- Monkey Punch
- Saori Minami
- Heiji Zenigata VII
- Ruriko Asaoka
- Shima Iwashita (as Sima Iwashita)
- Junko Fuji
- Ken Takakura
- Mick Jagger
- Kōji Tsuruta (as Koji Turuta)
- First voice role of Eiko Masuyama in a Lupin III TV series. She voiced Fujiko in the 1969 pilot film, then turned down the first TV series because she didn't want to do a love scene. For Part 2, she was cast as Fujiko again, and would voice her for the next 35 years.
- The location of the emerald is likely a reference to the hiding place of the list of "the twenty-seven" in the Arsène Lupin novel "The Crystal Stopper".
