Napoleon XI is a character from Lupin the Third Part II and is a descendant of Napoleon Bonaparte.
Character History[]
Napoleon XI is a leader of a terrorist organization called the Napoleon Empire. He was arrested and held at the Headquarters of Interpol. Since his officers had kidnapped Koichi Zenigata, Lupin plans to free him and performs a hostage exchange. After being caught by Interpol, Lupin told them that he wanted to be in the same cell as Napoleon XI, who had a luxury spacious cell with his own bed. He insisted Lupin address him as "Your Majesty".
Lupin promised him to free him. However, there was an impasse, as Napoleon XI wanted to stay. They escape anyway, as Zenigata's life is on the line.
Napoleon turns out to be a heavy sleeper who is only awake for three or four hours a day. He explains that he wanted to conquer the world because it's too noisy for him to sleep in, and remarks how ironic it was that it was quieter and more peaceful at Interpol. Lupin had planned to disguise Napoleon as him and himself as Napoleon, but he was sleeping so heavily in the helicopter on the way to the hostage exchange that he put a mask on him to make him appear awake. He has a snot bubble coming out of his nose, so it isn't entirely perfect.
Goemon discreetly places Napoleon by a tree, still in the Lupin disguise, without Zenigata somehow noticing. The terrorist leader is arrested and brought back to the ICPO.
Notes[]
- He gets a cameo appearance in Bad Guys Are Truly Big Villains as he appears in the masquerade.
- His heavy sleeping is a parody of the rumor that the real Napoleon Bonaparte only slept three or four hours a day.
