Miss Jasmin is a character of Lupin the 3rd Part 2.

History[]

Miss Jasmin was part of the ICPO (Interpol) and worked as a director (lieutenant depending on translation). Her partner was Koichi Zenigata, both working to capture Lupin III and both in love with each other.

After Zenigata failed to capture Lupin, the Chief threatened to fire him. Jasmin wasn't upset, as she was hoping to get married anyway. She hatched a plan with Zenigata, and told him he couldn't arrest Lupin until she gives the go ahead. Zenigata agreed. In the meantime, she decided that the two of them would start a relationship together.

Jasmin and Zenigata traveled to New York disguised as Maureen (Marriene or Marine) and Stefan. Stefan would be a thief from Brooklyn and Maureen would be the daughter of the mob boss Bongole who was blind and had an incurable disease. Lupin, Jigen and Fujiko witnessed the abduction. Stefan told the gang he put the jewels he stole from them on the motorcycle because they wanted to go on their honeymoon. They then drove away Lupin was unaware that Bongole was the ICPO Chief.

They went to Venice and went on a gondola date. Zenigata was anxious about whether Lupin was going to show up. Jasmine assured him the plan was fool proof. Suddenly, they're held up at gunpoint by the gondolier, who turned out to be Jigen.

Lupin and his gang, now with Goemon, took them onto a boat and listened to their story. Stefan told Lupin the whole story about Maureen's incurable disease and their love.

Jasmine played to Goemon's sympathies by tripping on a step. The gang took Stefan and Maureen onto another gondola, but the mafia opened fire on them. Fujiko evacuated the two of them. Jasmine whispered to Zenigata that it is almost over and ordered him to hold her tightly. Zenigata was reluctant to do so, but she ordered him once more. Stefan grabbed her and she screamed, making it look like Maureen was getting ill. Lupin and the rest of the gang arrive to find Maureen unconscious, and as luck would have it an ambulance arrived as well.

The trap worked perfectly. The gang was held in a cage with spikes that would protrude when touched. Jasmin and Zenigata revealed themselves, and Jasmin told Lupin that they knew that he was coming to New York and they arrested Bongole. They then went on another gondola date.

As Zenigata rowed anxiously, Jasmin told him to forget about work today. He just said "sure, director". She didn't like that, and insisted "Zeni" call her Jasmin. Zenigata nervously did so. She demanded he say his name louder. He did so, but blushed so furiously that he dropped the oar. As Jasmin paddled, she that Zenigata had written to her often. He nervously claimed that they were reports regarding his investigations. She thought they were love letters, Zenigata claimed wasn't sure whether they were love letters, and she wondered if he meant it. He affirmed that this was true. She told him that capturing Lupin was her final case and that she wanted to quit and get married. Zenigata was shocked and turned blue with panic, wondering who was the lucky man for her, She coyly told him that in Venice when someone passes underneath a bridge, you have found your one true love.

They passed under a bridge and Zenigata grew more nervous. Zenigata tried to make a romantic gesture to Jasmin. They were about to kiss when the bridge hit him and knocked him off the gondola.

As Zenigata dried off, he told her that he can't marry her when Lupin is still at large. She assured him that Lupin can't escape from the trap as she personally guaranteed it. As they sat on a bench on St. Mark's Square, Zenigata proposed to Jasmin. She accepted and they kissed. Lupin drove by saying to Zenigata that he was popular with the ladies and he's jealous. Jasmin fainted in distress over her last chance at marriage being ruined. Zenigata accused Lupin of ruining their romantic moment and his chance at marriage.

It's implied that Jasmin left Zenigata after he failed to keep Lupin caught.
