Lupin III Wiki

Mark Williams was a character from Operation: Return the Treasure.

Character History[]

Mark was a thief who had stolen multiple treasures. In his estate, he had the seat where a fan caught a baseball during Babe Ruth's 60th Home Run at the Yankee Stadium.

When he was younger, he had an interest in the Sagrada Família in Barcelona. While playing with his friend Carlos eighty years ago, an elderly man who had the Trick Diamond whispered to him the secret that came from Gaudí however Gaudí himself got knocked down on a tram that evening and died three days later. Later he got the Trick Diamond and put it in a case starting his thieving career.

He became friends with Lupin III where they had a friendly rivalry, having races to get treasures and women that Mark won every time. One time in New York he had a race with Lupin to see who would steal a roll of toilet paper in Trump Tower first, Mark won the race.

While he stayed single throughout his life, he did date a woman however he was not only too shy but there was an age difference with Mark being older. He attended the church at a local village where he then had an estate.

When he became seriously ill and stayed in bed, he had recorded messages both on a film projector and digitally. A year before his death, Lupin had regular visits with Mark regarding the Trick Diamond.

Upon his death, it is revealed that in order for Lupin to get the Trick Diamond, he would had to return six treasures within seven days. His reason was that he had enough of looking at them and wanted others to have a look. He told Fujiko Mine the details as he hid them in a secret wall and gave her a digital camera. The deadline was at dawn on June 25, as he was not sure when the next opportunity would be in his lifetime. He then hid the diamond in a teddy bear to his "niece" Anita. After getting the Trick Diamond, it had to be placed on the top of the furthest left tower of the Nativity façade as according to him, the Saint Barnabas steeple was the only one that was completed when Gaudí was alive.

Since he knew that Lupin would get tricked by Fujiko, he hid an antenna in the digital camera. He also made a precaution that if the USB drive was stolen, it would have had a multiple choice question to make sure that the person was Lupin.

Mark Williams then passed away, people from the local village as well as Anita and Fujiko had attended the funeral in a church. The service was interrupted when Lupin and Daisuke Jigen had crashed their plane nearby.
