Maria is a character from the TV Special Mystery of the Hemingway Papers.
History[]
Maria is the owner of Maria's Bar in the island of Corcaca and lives on her own. Due to that the Hemingway Papers was located on the island and the rumours started 10 years ago, people were fighting over the treasure and the village where she lives had become deserted. In the past when Consano and Carlos took over the island, she was a member of the Liberation Front known as the Scorpions who wanted to protect the island and her brother was their leader however he was assassinated along with most of the other members seven years ago. She appears to be very rude and wants to do stuff by herself even when Lupin wanted to help and was friendly to her. Jigen and Goemon also attended to her bar for a drink but on their terms.
An army had entered the bar and discovered that she was a Scorpion but thanks to a trick on her jukebox managed to make the inside of the bar explode. She took Lupin to an ammo dump and told her story but she thought that Lupin was like the other treasure hunters, pushed and threw grenades at him however Lupin reasoned with her as she explained about the treasure hunters and the partnership of Consano and Carlos. After Maria had spied out and Lupin came back from his trip with Fujiko, they returned to the bar with as Carlos and his army had started to bomb the area and Consano has the Hemingway Papers. Later Lupin had returned to the bar as he managed to avenge her brother since Consano and Carlos, she kissed Lupin and she wants him to stay but he decided to leave even when playing his favourite song.
