Lupin the 3rd VS Cat's Eye (ルパン三世VSキャッツ・アイ Rupan Sansei VS Kattsu Ai?) is a 2023 ONA crossover between Monkey Punch's Lupin III franchise and Tsukasa Hojo's Cat's Eye franchise, prior to the latter series' 40th anniversary. It the third crossover media after Lupin III vs. Detective Conan: The Movie. The ONA is directed by Kōbun Shizuno, who had directed multiple Detective Conan movies prior, and Hiroyuki Seshita, who had previously co-directed a Godzilla anime film trilogy with Shizuno.[1][2]
It is the second Lupin III media after the 2021 movie The First to be fully animated in CGI, resembling the look and aesthetic of the aforementioned anime Godzilla movies the co-directors have worked on. Remarkably, Lupin the 3rd VS Cat's Eye is also the first Lupin ONA produced for Amazon Prime Video and was the first Lupin III ONA to ever be announced.
Synopsis[]
Lupin III, the great phantom thief—the man who loves freedom and lives in romance—never fails to steal his prey. The Cat's Eye are the ladies who run the night splendidly and create commotion in the world. They are sometimes phantom thieves, other times three beautiful sisters who run a café.
The mutual target is "Three Paintings"—which were left behind by the three sisters' father, leading to the dream showdown between Lupin and the Cats. Amidst the mix-up of the charming characters, the story eventually leads to the amazing "secret" hidden in the picture... A retro and stylish exhilarating crime action unfolds![3]

- As it takes place in the 1980's which is when Cat's Eye first aired, Lupin dons his pink jacket from Lupin the 3rd Part III, which started airing around the same time Cat's Eye ended its first season, though notably he doesn't use the exact same undershirt, pant and tie colors.
- It is now the only other Lupin media to feature the pink jacket apart from Part III, the movie The Legend of the Gold of Babylon and Part 5 Episode 6.
- Due to Amazon's involvement with the ONA, this was the first Lupin the 3rd anime to have received a multi-language release on the same day rather than waiting until after the Japanese release. There are 27 languages having subtitles including 5 close captions for the respective dubs (Japanese, English, Italian, French and German) and 13 dubs.
