Lupin III Wiki

Lupiman is a 4-koma parody comedy strip from the Official Lupin III Magazine. Written and illustrated by Tanaka Kuruma, it ran for 28 chapters, each from 4 to 6 pages and containing multiple jokes per page.

The comic is formatted by short 4 panel gags (with a few 8 panel exceptions) and the humor mixes word puns, visual comedy and many references to both the original Lupin III manga and Shin Lupin III.

The first 5 chapters were published only on the magazine but from 6 to 28 it moved to a digital format (as well as changing art style and tone) the manga has never been compiled or published on its own

Notes[]

  • A reoccurring gag in the manga is the fact that Jigen's beard can stretch and perform many actions (fishing, drinking, shooting a gun, upon many others) this is usually accompanied by Goemon terrified of the concept.
  • Melon Cop's character is exaggerated on the fact that he is a magician.
  • Discarded character, the little hairball guy appears on every chapter, usually on lupin's shoulder or imitating many characters in different actions.
  • In contrast to the original manga, the unnamed woman takes a prevalent role in this manga appearing in multiple chapters (even on the last one with the rest of the gang)
