Lucrezia Borgia is a character from Lupin the Third Part II and is a descendant of the person of same name.
Character History[]
Lucrezia is an elderly woman who is part of the Borgia bloodline and later became the only surviving member. Her nephew Galtan Borgia had abused her and decided to lock herself in prison for her own safety, he had tried various ways of getting Lucrezia out however he failed every time. Despite the abuse, he doesn't want her to die.
Lupin III along with Daisuke Jigen and Goemon Ishikawa XIII were tasked by Galtan to free her out of jail. Galtan disguised himself as Koichi Zenigata and took them to the prison as it was part of the plan. After getting themselves into their cell, Goemon had used the Zantetsuken to form holes in the walls to get to Lucrezia's cell. She sat in a wooden chair and Lupin asked if she is Lucrezia Borgia as he come to save her, she told him to get lost as she did not want to leave. As Lupin got worried, she turned her head and repeated herself. Lupin was shocked biting his fingernails as he did not expect her to have a face that looks like Zenigata. Goemon blankly commented to be very scary. She knew with her eyes closed that Galtan asked them to come there and would not leave. Jigen grabbed the bed and held a compass that pointed north and the direction was right, she opened her eyes and knew about their plans shouting at them to leave and not joking about it. Goemon commented that he has never heard of a victim refusing to leave. Jigen puts gas canisters underneath the bed and she says that she won't tell if they go, Goemon told her to keep the details for later as he wanted Lupin to do the plan. As soon as Lucrezia says Lupin, he apologized and put her to sleep as Jigen finished with the bed. Lupin held Lucrezia and put her to bed, Goemon used the Zantetsuken to break the wall and Jigen started the countdown for the gas canisters to be activated as they all got on the bed.
As Lupin was ready to free Lucrezia, back in the police van Galtan removed his face mask and waited for their escape. The flying bed was dropping down so he smiled, drove slowly and opened the doors so the bed could land in the van. The bed landed successfully and they drove off, since Fujiko Mine got a helicopter and took the van away from the Lupin gang yet Jigen had a hunch and planted a tracker on the bed.
The helicopter was flying towards the Mediterranean Sea and landed on a sea mansion in the small island of Port-Cros. Lucrezia sat in her lounger asleep, Fujiko disguised as a maid came out with a bowl of soup and she woke up as Fujiko mentioned that she wouldn't be able to have it in prison. Fujiko tried to give her a spoonful however she turned away and claimed to hate it wanting to take it away, she said that it was not easy saving her. It is revealed that Galtan is after the treasure that only she knows the location thinking that Fujiko also wants it. Fujiko however acted dumb thinking that she doesn't know what she was talking about.
Lucrezia also shows Fujiko a burn that Galtan had done to her and Fujiko called it awful, she says that if she falls into Galtan hands again he will have no mercy and why she escaped his abuse to prison. Fujiko says that she is not like Galtan and came to protect her. Galtan however was spying behind a pillar and was walking towards them. He told Fujiko to stop talking nonsense and not to go too far however she says that she is only doing as promised and points a gun towards him. Galtan walked back and mentioned poisonous ink that she was after, he went into his jacket and got out The Poisonous Flower ruby. Appearing as a bat illusion, it went towards Fujiko and hit her on the face. He then shows her the power of the black magic passed down from the family and ties her up using colored ribbons, he moved his right hand as Fujiko floated up. She asked him what he was going to do and he told to float there for a while.
Galtan then went towards Lucrezia saying that it was a long time ago, she asks him that he was happy with her out of prison however he isn't until she tells him the location of the treasure. Lucrezia told him to give it up as she won't tell him. He was deviously thinking and got out a needle with a diamond point, his plan was to jab her with the poisonous needle to tell him everything. As he get closer to her with the needle, she was stressed out and tried to move away however he managed to prick her in the neck as she fell asleep. Galtan says that if she tells him he is happy to send her anywhere she wants whether in jail or hell.
Lucrezia was terrified as she covered her mouth and he forced her to tell her, she stood up and he pressed on for the treasure of the Borgia. She tells him that when he was a kid, he played at the lighthouse nearby to play. There were no stairs or doors but the light was "beautiful" as Galtan looked at the lighthouse. He shouted and pointed at the building saying whether the treasure is hidden there however she said that it was not that. Galtan went closer towards Lucrezia pushing for more and she sweated as she struggled to say that the light bulb at the lighthouse were diamonds, she then fainted towards the chair. As Galtan ran off, she continued to herself with her eyes closed that from afar it shows the brightest color but if taken by force, something bad will happen in that the potions inside with start to react if air gets into the lighthouse causing a huge explosion. It was the last potion made by the Borgia family. Fujiko heard and told her about the diamond that it will be scattered in the wind
On the small pier, she was there and asked Zenigata to tell Lupin thanks for helping her. Lupin commented to Lucrezia and Zenigata that they look alike, she smiled as she was used to it. He along with Zenigata helped her get on the speedboat and she sat down. She says that she is a fan of Lupin II and as she had a love like expression found him looking handsome no matter the job and then told Lupin that he was much cooler than him. This caused Jigen to laugh as Lupin was embarrassed. Zenigata then took Lucrezia back to prison where she felt safe.
Notes[]
- Despite that many sources call her Lucrezia Borgia IV, there is no evidence in the episode itself of using a number. The official synopses both in English and Japanese only call her Lucrezia.
- Even though the Borgia family was Spanish and later Italian, her residence is in France with the main Borgia mansion in the mainland and her sea mansion at the French owned island of Port-Cros.
