George Marshall is a character of Lupin the 3rd Part 2.
History[]
George was a thief who had ten convictions for criminal offenses, it is unknown what offenses they were. A file of his past was stored in Scotland Yard and listed as Criminal Number M123.
At some point he had plastic surgery to escape from the London Metropolitan Police, changed his identity to Marcel Duran and moved to Paris to live in a mansion. He came rich and considered to be part of the Paris social circle. Anyone who tried to find out about his past had died of a mysterious death.
Lupin III and Fujiko Mine was invited to attend his mansion as he held a party. Marcel came and kiss on a woman's hand, then talked to some women. He went towards Fujiko to greet her as he kiss her hand and spotted Lupin, he also tells him that he is a big fan of Arsène Lupin and wanted both of them to have a good time. After Lupin gleed, he went off and women crowded around wanting him. Lupin calls him a "show off" and was only invited because of his grandfather but Fujiko is attracted to him.
Someone at the party was murdered with a knife in his back held by a knight costume. He asked one of the guests who was the man as he didn't recognise him that he replied that it was a magazine reporter who wanted to know his past. While it is not shown, Marcel was involved with his death as he was "too nosy". An ambulance came to take him away and the party continued as normal.
As Fujiko's curiosity went towards one of his rooms to look for information regarding his past with Lupin following her, the shutters came down and blocking them from getting away. Then sleeping gas came out making them fall asleep. Marcel took them to the basement and tied them up in chain with locks on their necks and arms. The doors were opening to reveal a computer room behind Marcel and one of his henchmen, he was surprised that Lupin was easily caught.
It turns out that he invited Lupin to lure him into a trap. Marcel ordered him to steal the M123 file from the London Metropolitan Police located in Scotland Yard and claims that he is the only person who could to it. They mentioned about the murdered reporter and how he was involved with the death. Lupin agreed with Marcel's henchman freeing his cuffs but Marcel says that he is keeping Fujiko hostage and order Lupin to take off his clothes as he planted a bomb on his body. Lupin screamed as he sees the explosive belt.
Marcel explains to Lupin that the belt has a danger alert system. Green is safe, yellow is caution while with red, he shows off a dummy of Lupin that is 1:10th of the size of the real Lupin in reinforced glass. First it starts off green, then yellow and when it turns red after ten seconds, the dummy explodes. His henchman activated the switch on Lupin's belt and he also tells him that the belt will explode if he tries to remove it. Marcel claims that he doesn't trust people too much and then laughs.
After Lupin read his file, Marcel tells Fujiko that he hopes to die in the explosion so the file can get destroyed and having less work to do. Fujiko thought that he was cruel.
Lupin only having ten seconds left before the explosion crashed the car into the mansion and Jigen got out pointing his gun at Marcel as he was shaking with the controls in his hands. He sees Goemon free Fujiko using the Zantetsuken to break the chair and the lock. As they run away, Marcel is holding the controls and wanted to blow Lupin up. He activates the switch however the explosion was at the mansion rather than Lupin's belt. Lupin explains that he quickly removed the belt while Marcel turned it off for a second.
The explosion blew up the mansion, his plastic surgery had gone and reverted to his original look. Lupin says that he looks just like the photo in the file and Jigen calls him a petty thief. George however still believes that he is still Marcel and Lupin explains what happened. He wanted to know why he knew but then Fujiko calling him "handsome" tells him to have a look at his face. He goes towards the fountain and screamed, Lupin called him ugly and left along with Jigen, Goemon and Fujiko. George was annoyed and still believed that he was Handsome Marcel however he fell into the fountain.
He reappeared in Lupin the Third Part 5 as he posted on PeopleLog that Lupin told everyone about his plastic surgery and called him a dirtbag.

- In the English dub, his voice is an impression of Christopher Walken. Also in the English dub, Lupin makes chicken jokes regarding him.
- In the English Pioneer/Geneon subtitles, when Jigen calls him a "petty thief" his name is George Marshal with one l.
- His methods regarding cuffing people to chairs, putting explosive devices on them, showing what happens with a dummy and kidnapping Fujiko to get what they want is similar to Ginko Hoshikage.
