Gagney is a character of Lupin the 3rd Part III.
History[]
Gagney is an assassin for hire who has his own henchmen, his rule is "Quick job, quick payment".
Cecil Rose invited him to kill Lupin III and wanted to give him 10% of the diamond sale value, Gagney wanted to know the price per carat that was $30,000. He was impressed as he heard about the prices soaring however was unable to work out the price, Rose told him that it was 3 billion dollars and he got excited as he wanted to live the high life forever. They then agreed to the deal. Rose transported trucks full of "coal" with one truck going a different route to lure the Lupin gang away, the one truck actually contained coal with Gagney and his henchmen deal with the Lupin gang.
Gagney and his henchmen had arrived by the truck, he claimed that it wasn't personal but said that he will kill Lupin however after he shouted, there was no one by the truck as he then saw a car drive away. He was angry and ordered his henchmen to go after the Lupin gang. They followed the car and Gagney fired his machine gun as Lupin was worth $3 billion dead, he managed to shoot the left car window knocking a henchman out that cause their jeep to explode. He was furious as Lupin outsmarted him with Lupin claiming that "it's not my fault that you suck at this". Gagney and his henchmen chased after the car still firing from their machine guns, he avoided the car bumper coming off causing another jeep to explode. Lupin and Daisuke Jigen laughed thinking that Gagney's henchmen were suicidal but they decide to target a boulder that was coming Lupin's way that caused the car to get crushed. Gagney laughed knowing that Lupin hasn't won yet and suggesting to his henchmen that if they nail him, they will get a bonus that caused them to cheer.
He then traveled to Arabia with the airfield being around a desert, a helicopter had landed with the diamonds and Rose got out as he was surprised that Gagney and his henchmen had returned so quickly. He said about his rule and wanted to pay his henchmen a bonus. A plane was coming in as he noticed that the customer had arrived and landed with Shah Mohammad coming out to greet Rose, Mohammad jumped straight into the box of diamonds and poured liquid onto them. Gagney witnessed Mohammad claiming to Rose that it was "booze" as his belief was to obtain beauty was to purify yourself with liquor and calling two men and a woman with the briefcases to deliver the money. Along with the henchmen, they were impressed with the money. Suddenly the door of the plane opened and the real Mohammad with the servants came out all being tied up and their mouths were covered, Rose wondered what was going on as it turned out that the fake Mohammad was Lupin in disguise and Gagney was surprised that he was still alive.
Lupin thanked Rose for being involved with his fraud and came to return the favor by having a cigarette, Rose laughed as Lupin planned to keep the $30 billion and take the diamonds giving him the drinking pouch. He noticed that it was gasoline and Lupin lit up his lighter as he ordered Gagney's henchmen to drop their guns otherwise the diamonds would get burned. They agreed to the deal. Just as Lupin was about to leave, Zenigata had arrived so the Lupin gang escaped on Rose's helicopter and Rose jumped onto the box of diamonds as it was struggling to take off. Gagney and his henchmen fired at Zenigata and the police causing them to be off from their camels. As Zenigata and Gagney were wrestling with each other, Lupin dropped the money out of the helicopter with a briefcase falling onto his head. His henchmen then gathered the banknotes.
It was unknown what happened next however Zenigata ordered the officers to arrest them.
