Flora Hurst was a character from Lupin the Third Part III.
Character History[]
Flora was the only daughter of merchant and underworld crime boss Malcolm Hurst, she also had a step mother Malcolm Hurst's 16th Wife. She ended up having a terminal illness with only three months to live.
When Malcolm passed away, he left the Angel Collection to her as a gift. Malcolm knew that he was off to hell but he wanted Flora to go to Heaven with the Angels, so he hid them and only revealed the collection when she passed away. Once she got ill, she retreated to the tower at his castle by the sea.
Lupin III managed to get inside her room to look for the Angel Collection but saw a painting that to him was considered bad taste, as he was walking away he heard Flora who thought that he would take her. She walked into the painting room and told Lupin that she waited a long time for anyone to take her out however Lupin politely turns her down as he is a thief. Instead she grabbed onto Lupin and thought that she would kidnap her but they were being watched and Lupin took out the camera. He apologised but repeats that he is not the man that she is looking for and tells her to go back to bed. As Lupin ran towards the window to escape, Flora grabbed his leg and is willing to go with him.
Lupin and Flora climbed up the rope, Flora is still willing to go with Lupin as he set up his hand glider. He asked her name and she replied, Lupin thought that it was a nice name and tells her that if he sees her again, he won't keep her waiting. She then let go of the rope and fell down, Lupin ran down the roof and grabbed hold of her as they flew off. Despite that Lupin was worried, Flora was happy as she couldn't stand it in the tower. Malcolm Hurst's 16th Wife's subordinate aims his sniper rifle at the hand glider however she told him not to hurt Flora as she was after the collection.
It was hinted that Lupin and Flora managed to make it to the Mediterranean Sea, they ended up in a nearby hideout with Daisuke Jigen and she fell asleep on the couch. At 8 PM, she was woken up and Lupin tried to scare her away dressed up as a hooded ghoul. He threw knives to hold her to the wall and claims to be Lupin III's hell house however she found it cool as he scratched his head. Lupin then got extended gloves to tear Flora's night gown off and removed her bra, she then ran to the wall covering her breasts scared as he laughed. He removed the hood revealing to be Lupin wearing sunglasses, a tie and his boxers as he still tried to scare her to the exit. Flora however didn't feel like escaping and saying his idea isn't working, as Lupin walked away defeated Flora vowed to follow him until the end. She ran towards him ready for a hug however Lupin ended walking back in fear and left the hideout ending up back into the sea.
Flora managed to follow Lupin to the beach as he was talking to Fujiko Mine however she drove away on a quad bike thinking that Lupin liked young girls. She wondered who she was and he says disappointingly that she was an old friend however in a huff, she walked towards a sun lounger and tried to pose for Lupin with a wink. Despite the happy reaction, Lupin tells her that she's too young and she pouted. From the shore, assassins with harpoons fired towards Lupin and she went towards him as she hugged in fear. Both Lupin and Flora ran away from them holding hands however she let go, Lupin tried to save her but the harpoons pushed him back. She was then grabbed by a diver and using a make shift wooden boomerang, Lupin took him out and they ran off holding hands to the car to drive off.
Lupin tells her off that it happens every day for him as she was out of breath. Flora shrugged it off saying that she hasn't run in a while and her heart wasn't used to it however she knew that the assassins wanted to capture her. While she refused to tell Lupin why, she worryingly knew that Lupin was after the Angel Collection and looked straight head that she has three days left holding her necklace. She then closed her eyes but thought with a smile that she will tell Lupin the Angel Collection if she tags along with him for three days. Lupin has an unsure face then decided to have a good time together as she was happy and he had his elbow around her.
Driving into a village, Lupin took Flora to a bank as they disguised themselves as bank robbers. They attempted a heist however she let it slip that Lupin the 3rd was there, he tried to stop her but ended up facepalming. The bank manager jumped onto the table happy wondering whether he was Lupin III and removed his mask, he was happy that someone as famous as Lupin robbed his bank then cried in happiness. Flora was bored as the bank manager gave them a small money box then they looked worried as the customers were giving Lupin money. They ended up having a photo taken outside the bank even with a police officer and ended up having converted to 338,363 Japanese yen. They then robbed a grocery store and ducked in the car as the manager fired his rifle, he walked out and asked for Lupin's autograph that caused both of them to be surprised.
Into the sunset, Lupin drove away from the village and Flora wondered that he was so popular as she held his arm in love however he tells her that it is a one off due to his reputation. She suggested to do another job but he sighed however Lupin promised her to be together for three days and remains him that he has one day left. He got upset as he wondered about the days but she refused to tell being upset herself.
Flora looked with some binoculars towards a galleon set up as a casino run by mobsters, she plans to steal from there as Lupin put his hand on her shoulder. She then nodded and went alone on an inflatable dinghy going there. With a smile, she threw Lupin her necklace and told him to keep it as it was her life to look after. Finally she waved goodbye and rowed towards the galleon.
She then arrived however she was caught by some henchmen and was taken to the 16th wife who tied her up, she asked her the location of The Angel Collection as she didn't want any trouble but Flora refused and would rather die. The 16th wife pointed her gun at Flora pushing her to tell as she wanted to know what Malcolm had told Flora but she says that she's not afraid of death. She pities Flora as she could sit and watch while she takes the collection for herself. Just as she was about to shoot and Flora closed her eyes, Lupin shot her hand causing her gun to drop, he then went to Flora while aiming his Walther P38 at her. Flora gasped that he would come and Lupin keeps his promises to women. She ordered her henchmen to kill them however Jigen shot and disarmed their weapons away.
As her henchmen were dealt with, Lupin and Flora run away yet she goes to her henchmen to go after them. Somehow they fired but ended up firing on barrels of oil, Lupin and Flora opened the door and noticed this saying that Hell's Inferno is waiting for them and doesn't suit her. After firing causing the room to catch fire, Lupin grabbed Flora's hand and ran off. Flora was unable to go on and collapsed as her time has come, Lupin went towards her and carried her into his arms as she closed her eyes knowing that her life will end soon. She confessed what her father had said while opening her eyes however she tells Lupin that she doesn't want to go to heaven as she thinks it is boring, she then said about what happened and given up on living out her life. Lupin told her to cheer up and she says that she's getting old soon in heaven because she was waiting for a man like him. She gasped as she saw the 16th wife fire her gun and Flora went towards her knowing that she will die. Lupin grabbed her and calling her name however she knew that she could live much longer and closed her eyes.
Flora passed away and was put on a bed of flowers in the tower that revealed the Angel Collection that was kept. In the car, Lupin says that she doesn't deserve to go to hell, gave her farewell and threw the necklace into the sea as a sign of respect.
