Lupin III Wiki

Director Alibaba Naibaba is a character of Lupin the 3rd Part 2.

Character History[]

Alibaba Naibaba is a sheikh who also owns an art museum, oil platforms as well as a village named by himself. He has over 35 sons, 20 daughters and 12 wives. He is implied to be either bisexual or gay; despite having wives, he is attracted to Koichi Zenigata and won't stop admiring his rear end.

At the auction, there was a bidding for a painting by Arsène Lupin. He picked up his pink suitcase and put in a bid for 500,000 francs as it opened showing the money, he challenged others to outbid him. The manager was happy that he took the picture and ordered Zenigata to look after it, Zenigata took him in a red car as criminal gangs were also after the painting. The gangsters were firing with machine guns and Zenigata fired back, as he was providing cover, he deviously smiled and complimented his butt but Zenigata thought that he was talking nonsense. Naibaba grabbed a fake painting from the back seat and Zenigata threw it towards the gangsters however Daisuke Jigen was the one who caught it, it turned out that behind the fake painting was a painting that Zenigata had done himself saying "I'm counting on you, Lupin!". They managed to lose the gangsters as they followed Lupin III instead.

In Marseilles, Zenigata drove Naibaba to the port where they headed towards a boat as he held the painting. He asked Naibaba why he was risking to buy the painting however he replied that his art museum had nothing new to exhibit and it is a nice addition. Zenigata wondered if he wanted others but he explains that he has famous paintings already. Naibaba mentioned that there is much oil in the desert causing Zenigata to blush, he asked why the attraction and mentioned that it reminded him of someone else's. They sailed away and looked at the horizon, while Zenigata looked depressed, Naibaba smiled.

They had arrived and stopped at a local village, Zenigata asked him whether they were his soldiers, he confirmed it but he got worried that one of the soldiers is Lupin in disguise. Naibaba while being angry, assures him that they are his sons and Zenigata got worried as he could see 15 visible sons, he also adds that there are 16 more back in his palace. One of them corrects Naibaba saying that there are now 17 due to one being born last night. Zenigata asked whether they were sons and daughters but they were just sons and smiled mentioning his daughters, he thought it was one wife but Naibaba says that he doesn't have many wives causing him to be upset. Naibaba asked Zenigata whether he has a wife, a son or a daughter but he replied no or not yet causing him to laugh.

The train boarded and set off, Lupin sneaked in however Zenigata knew so he turned the wheel setting apart the last carriage and it crashed into the wall falling into the water. Naibaba was impressed by what happened. Zenigata was on top of the train on lookout, Naibaba says if they make it to the palace a statue of Zenigata will be built in his honor. He saw a strange man on a camel heading his way and ordered his sons to fire on him. Zenigata noticed that it was Fujiko Mine and did not like the idea of killing women causing Naibaba to smile.

Naibaba saw Zenigata using a fly swatter to deal with Fujiko and sprayed fly killer on her causing her to fall to the ground. He was standing as he was holding the painting as Zenigata sat down with 17 visible sons and found his speech to be very honorable. He then complimented Zenigata by mentioning his face and his thick eyebrows, he wanted Zenigata to be a role model for his sons. As Zenigata was posing, he sighed that he was a police officer instead of a "great comedian" causing him to fall to the floor. One of his sons warned Zenigata that Goemon Ishikawa XIII had arrived on the tracks as he dashed out.

As Zenigata dealt with Goemon and increased the speed of the train, he went back to the carriage to find that Naibaba had been drinking sake. He claims that it was delicious but Zenigata wondered where it came from as he was having another drink. As his face became red, he says that he found some in the car and wanted Zenigata to have a drink but the glass was shot and told him that he was scared. Naibaba hugged Zenigata even though he did not want to be touched. It turned out that it was Jigen and Zenigata went to deal with him.

Naibaba was looking at the sunset while drinking sake, he called the scene beautiful but not as beautiful as Zenigata's butt that caused him to be annoyed. With a sleazy smile, he laughed as the train stopped. The train then continued its journey to Naibaba village, he along with his sons were happy. Naibaba urged Zenigata to have a drink as he thought that the painting was safe. Zenigata grabbed the whisky bottle and wondered where he got it but Naibaba says that he has more while holding a bottle of Moontory (blank on the International masters), the rest of the sons were drunk.

They had arrived at the stop and Zenigata got out to inspect the stop, he found no problems. Naibaba dropped the bottle and his painting that was then stolen by Lupin, he started to cry and ran towards Zenigata. He hugged him, thanked him and called him a real friend, then better than a real friend as he was about to feel his butt however Zenigata grabbed hold of his arm. The ground started to shake as it turned out that the platform was actually a truck and moved, then reopened the door. Lupin says that the world is big and people think what they want to think, then he broke the fourth wall. Naibaba was upset and says that it is all right to have a guy too, then he realised that the painting was stolen and beng angry ordered his sons to fire but they were asleep due to the alcohol that Fujiko, Goemon and Jigen had provided for them on the train. Zenigata fired but Lupin jumped and got into the truck to empty both Zenigata and Naibaba off to truck to leave with the painting. While Zenigata was annoyed that Lupin left, Naibaba tells him that he got something valuable that was love and put his hand saying about his "charming" butt. This was making Zenigata uncomfortable and ran away from Naibaba.

Notes[]

  • In the Italian dub, the dialogue was altered regarding his attraction to Zenigata.
  • It is unknown how many sons that Naibaba has exactly, 17 are at the palace and the most counted was 18 when 17 were sat down with Zenigata and one being the driver.
  • When translated into Japanese, his name means "Have have-not"
