Character History[]

Carlos' Grandson is the grandson of Carlos, a thief and a safe cracker that Lupin III knew however he died in his cell. While he appears to be calm, he is also calculated and shown to be two faced.

After Carlos passed away, he attended the funeral as Daisuke Jigen spotted him coming out of a taxi with a suitcase. Lupin never found out his name or face but was told that he had a grandchild but looked remarkably respectful for a safe cracker's grandson as he shook his hand with the priest. As the funeral ended, Lupin and Jigen drove towards him and stopped with Lupin asking whether he was "Old Man Carlos' grandson" and he confirmed the identity but wondered who he was, Lupin just said that he was an old pal of his granddad. He thanked Lupin for coming and believed that it made his grandfather happy but Jigen doubts it so Lupin adds that he was looking for something that Carlos had left for him and wants it however he doesn't know anything about it as he hasn't seen him for a long time. As Lupin smiled knowing that he is going to have a surprise, he didn't understand what he meant, Jigen joked that he shouldn't have it all to himself otherwise he would be cursed. He still didn't understand but told them to ask for his grandfather's friend and showed him Koichi Zenigata who was the priest for the service. As Zenigata was ready for the handcuffs, Lupin waved goodbye to him and drove off, he deviously smiled to himself as Zenigata was chasing after Lupin.

Back at his house, Fujiko Mine had arrived to tell him that the director gave Zenigata the permission to kill Lupin and smiled knowing that it went to plan, she says that everything will have come together and he knew about his grandfather's gold, they then toasted to Lupin's death. Fujiko wondered where Carlos' gold is located as it was written in his will, he confirmed it however it was mentioned not to trust anybody especially a woman like her while standing next to a fish tank and poured the remains of the wine into the tank killing the fish as Fujiko planted a sleeping pill inside his glass of wine. He knew that while he was out, she would have searched his room for the will. Fujiko knew that he was getting smart and he claims that she taught him that trick and laughed as she went to sleep regretting that she thought that he was only a child and lost her guard. He then claims that he will have the gold to himself as it was better than sharing but just before she went to sleep, she says that a child like you is no match for someone like Lupin. It turned out that it was Ann in disguise.

Lupin and Jigen had arrived in his house and as Lupin kicked the door down, he was handcuffed to the fish tank and claims that Inspector Zenigata had arrested Fujiko and Lupin untied him as he explains that Zenigata forced her to come with him and says that to get her back, meet him at the stadium by 6PM. Jigen muttered that Fujiko pulled his strings and he begs Lupin to help Fujiko so he can get his grandfather's inheritance. Lupin thought that using Fujiko as bait was low and as he and Jigen left, he phoned up the police to ask for Zenigata.

Lupin disguised as Carlos' grandson returned to the cemetery as Ann was about to steal Carlos' gravestone and managed to scare her as she thought that he was there. Since both Ann and Lupin had disguised themselves as Carlos' Grandson, it is unknown whether the person exists.

Notes[]

  • In terms of his dubious existence, he is similar to Inspector Maigret who was both Monsieur Daré and Lupin.
