Alan Bonaparte is a character in the episode "Break the Big Trap" from Lupin the Third Part III. He was the Interpol director who was corrupt and was Koichi Zenigata's superior.

Character History[]

Alan and Zenigata set a trap for Lupin to transport some gold on a truck by putting into a gold meteor however Lupin III managed to steal the gold and replaced it with a balloon that resembled the gold. It turned out that the gold meteor was fake as Goemon Ishikawa XIII used his Zantetsuken to find it hollow and was gold plated. After the failure of the job, Alan recommended to Zenigata that he should go back to Japan as he handed over his badge and cuffs. When he left, Alan was laughing behind his back.

It turned out that he was working for Fujiko Mine and it was a setup so they could get the real gold. He was replaced with a new director and as Zenigata provided the evidence, Alan sided with the rest of the staff when Zenigata was unable to find the missing gold in an empty swimming pool to make him out as an incompetent officer. After the new director left, he told Zenigata not to make a fool of himself and walked off laughing.

Later he was ready to leave the country on a boat with Fujiko and the gold, according to her they were having an around the world trip and will be back in two years. As it was about to reach the sea, Goemon using his Zantetsuken had sliced the boat in half and Lupin threw the handcuffs tying them from the back of the boat to a metal pole. Alan got out of the boat furiously aiming his gun while Daisuke Jigen fired to disarm his pistol. Lupin found the gold ingots on the bottom half of the boat and saying that he cleared his name for the gold robbery that Alan had set him up for.

Eventually he was arrested by Zenigata for stealing and embezzling Interpol funds as he was holding onto the top of the mast as the boat was sinking with multiple handcuffs around Alan and the mast. It is unknown whether Alan is still alive or not.
