Afro "Lupin '68" is the second opening theme of Lupin the 3rd Part 1. It was composed by Takeo Yamashita and performed by the singer Charlie Kosei.[1]
During the opening, Lupin III describes himself, his companions Daisuke Jigen, and Goemon Ishikawa XIII, his lover Fujiko Mine and his arch-rival Koichi Zenigata.
In 2022, it was decided that this theme will be reused as the main theme of the 6-episode ONA Lupin Zero. For this occasion, it was rearranged by Otomo Yoshihide.

Notes[]
- Despite being used as an opening theme, it first appeared in Part 1 Episode 1 at the end of the race.
- Due to the show's troubled production, this opening used footage from the 1969 Pilot Film. In the opening, Lupin has brown hair and a red jacket but black hair and green jacket in the serie.[3]
- Due to that the original master tape is lost for the song, no complete version of the song exists and had to be spliced from episodes that also had sound effects. The one in "'71 ME TRACKS" was from Part 1 Episode 14 and Part 1 Episode 15. It was rearranged in "Lupin III - TV Original BGM Collection" and "Rebirth From '71 Original Score". The instrumental version used in Part 1 Episode 6 is also lost.
- Originally the song was nameless then it was named "AFRO ROCK THEME" on Lupin III - TV Original BGM Collection however it was then changed to Afro Lupin '68.
